Through structured drawing exercises, students will master artistic perspective.
Contour Drawing is a technique that focuses on depicting the outlines of objects without considering shading or texture. In contour drawing, artists capture and represent the external shape and edges of objects, using precise lines to highlight the basic form and structure of the object.
Perspective is a technique and theory in drawing and graphic design aimed at accurately representing the depth and spatial effects of three-dimensional space on a flat surface.
Perspective is fundamental in visual arts, enabling artists and designers to create works with a sense of depth and space, allowing viewers to perceive the position and distance of objects in a three-dimensional context.
Chiaroscuro, derived from the Italian words for "light" (chiaro) and "dark" (scuro), is a technique developed during the Renaissance. It uses strong contrasts between light and dark to create a three-dimensional effect.
Volume refers to the ability of an object in a painting to appear textured, three-dimensional, and spatial. To achieve this, artists use techniques like shading, highlights, and reflections to emphasize the object's surface and contours, allowing viewers to perceive its depth and form.
This course is suitable for beginners, hobbyists, and applicants to undergraduate painting programs.
Course Content
(Intro to Form and Structure)
Over the course of two months, students will transition from passively imitating nature to actively creating forms. The course covers all techniques and knowledge related to drawing, with the instructor providing selective instruction based on students’ needs. It can be seen as an open-ended life drawing class without specific focus or limitations. Compared to the beginner class, the advanced class places greater emphasis on the final result—the artwork itself.
This course is suitable for undergraduate painting students, graduate applicants in painting, graduates of the 4C foundational modeling course, and drawing enthusiasts.

We offer small-group, in-person classes with a maximum of 4 students per class to ensure personalized instruction and interaction. The course provides highly specialized drawing training based on contemporary art education principles, rather than a one-time experience.
Our course is not traditional repetitive drawing training but starts from conceptual ideas, using drawing practice as a tool to understand and test these concepts. The goal is not the drawing itself but visual research, which is the core of our curriculum.
