What is the 4C Exhibition?

 

4C means "for Conceptual Art （观念艺术）， for Contemporary Art（ 当代艺术）, for Chinese speaking Community（中文社群）”。

4C Gallery is dedicated to fostering creativity and cultural exchange, providing a professional platform for artists to explore and showcase contemporary and conceptual art. Our name, 4C, stands for Contemporary Art, Conceptual Art, Chinese speaking Community. The gallery is artist-managed, with both the gallery owner and the exhibition team being artists and curators  themselves. This ensures that every aspect of the gallery, from curation to installation, is handled with an artist's understanding and sensitivity.

We believe in the inclusivity and diversity of art, embracing all forms of artistic expression. At 4C Gallery, we aim to bridge cultural gaps and offer a space where art can flourish without boundaries, inviting artists and audiences from all backgrounds to engage with the rich, evolving landscape of contemporary art.

According to the artist's works, we will provide each selected artist with a exhibition wall of up to 9×10 feet, 90 square feet, so that artists can exhibit their works in series. According to the arrangement of the venue, the panels will select 6~10 artists to participate in the exhibition each time, and will formulate the best display plan for each artwork.

In addition, in order to help global artists to participate in the exhibition without barriers, 4C Gallery can also provide works production services, such as giclee printing, mounting, etc., by taking advantage of its own workshop.

The 4C Exhibition is a quarterly International group exhibition presented by 4C Gallery, with a strong focus on conceptual and contemporary art. Each selected artist is provided with a unique opportunity to showcase their work for one month in both a physical and online setting. The exhibition aims to highlight and promote innovative artistic expressions, offering exposure to a wide range of audiences while celebrating the diversity of contemporary and conceptual art practices.

 

Artists will be provided with:

• Group Exhibition

Selected artworks will be showcased in a physical group exhibition at 4C Gallery, located in Los Angeles, as well as in an international online exhibition. The physical exhibition space is spacious and versatile, offering up to 100 square feet of gallery exhibition wall, which is ideal for displaying a wide range of artworks, including large-scale installations and multi-media works. All chosen artworks will be displayed for at least a month, ensuring significant exposure to a wide range of audiences, both locally and internationally.

• Professional Installation Support

The 4C Gallery boasts a professional art installation team dedicated to helping artists with the setup of their works, especially in the realm of installation art. Our team works closely with artists to ensure that their vision is fully realized in the exhibition space, providing expert guidance and support throughout the process.

• Art Review Panel

We are proud to have a distinguished art review panel composed of successful professionals from various disciplines within the art world. This diverse group of experts brings a wealth of experience and insight, ensuring a high standard of selection and curation for the exhibition.

• On-Site Workshop

4C Gallery is equipped with a professional workshop that offers local production assistance for artists. Whether it's giclee printing, mounting, or creating custom pieces, our workshop provides the resources and expertise to help artists produce their work on-site, ensuring the highest quality and adherence to the artist's specifications.

• Publication

The selected artworks will be featured in the 4C Gallery Exhibition Book. This publication will be available in a glossy, colorful format and will be promoted and distributed online globally. It will reach thousands of readers, including experts, galleries, curators, businesses, and art enthusiasts through popular publication channels.

The online version of the book will be available for free, while high-quality print versions can be ordered online via print-on-demand services.

• Exhibition Press Release

An exhibition press release will be sent out and published in the art media to mark the event, attract more visitors, and increase the chances of artwork sales during the exhibition period.

• Artist Profile Page

Artists will receive a free online profile page on the 4C Gallery platform, showcasing their work and providing additional exposure.

• Certificate

A digital certificate will be issued to all selected artists, recognizing their participation in the 4C Gallery Exhibition.

• Exhibition Poster

Each artist will receive a link to the digital sharable version of the exhibition poster via email.

Who Are We Looking For?
We welcome artistic creations in all media, including but not limited to painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video, sound, fiber, and installation. While we focus on the Chinese-speaking community, we encourage submissions from all artists whose work resonates with our mission.

​How to submit?

​

For Artists:

Email the following materials to info@4cgallery.com. The subject of the email is: "exhibition name, artist name" (For example：4C EXHIBITION 2023Q1, Lisha Chen）. The subject of the email according to the format is very important. If you do not fill in the subject according to this format, it is very likely that you will miss the review.

• No more than 6 images. Each image limited to 15MB and name each image in the following way (Artist Name_Artwork Name_Dimension). If it's time based art, please send a link of the video. Please do not compress your files. If the files are too large to be sent by one email, please send them in two emails.

• An artist's statement (The artist statement is required to be in Chinese, and it is recommended to be bilingual in Chinese and English). Submit by document files, such as word, docs.​

• Artist resume

• Other materials, if necessary, please briefly add.

• Payment Proof of non-refundable art review fee, no exhibition fee. (only for group exhibition) You can pay by Zelle to "info@4cgallery.com"

• Registration fees will vary depending on the registration time.
