Course Introduction

DURATION: 1 SESSION (4 HRS) The cyanotype is a classical photographic process that produces images through sunlight exposure. It makes use of the property of iron salts, which, under ultraviolet light, form Prussian blue compounds to create blue-toned photographs. This method is characterized by its simplicity, short processing time, and the durability of the resulting images. Photographs produced by cyanotype retain the authenticity of the original image while being imbued with the dreamlike, mysterious quality of soft Prussian blue. **Note: This workshop is part of the course but can also be taken on its own.**
